The history of Scotland

Somerset Fry, Peter, 1931-1992
Books, Manuscripts
The story of Scotland deserves to be re-told, and in this book Peter and Fiona Somerset Fry tell it from prehistoric times to the present - from the Scottish viewpoint. Giving considerable attention to Scotland in the early times, the authors discuss her right to independence and describe the centuries-old struggle to maintain it, emphasising the contributions made by Scots to world civilisation and advancement. Yet as well as looking to the past to tell of Scotland's splendid history and unique heritage, the authors also look to the future to conclude in optimism for a sustained period of greatness in which the Scottish national attributes of hard work, proverbial courage and artistic flair will continue to flourish.
