A Parisian art-dealer stumbles on two valuable Impressionist paintings whichwere once part of a Nazi hoard. He informs his old Resistance comrade, now head of British Intelligence, who orders his star operator, Scott Crawford to investigate. Crawford finds that the art-dealer has been murdered, and that he is a marked man.
