In 1966 St. James’ Congregational Church closed, and merged with another congregation, under the title Hamilton Congregational Church, and meeting in the building in South Park Road. On 1 April 2000, it united with the United Reformed Church. David Livingstone and his family, although living in Blantyre, worshipped at St. James’ Congregational Church. His father, Neil Livingstone, was one of the first Deacons of the South Park Road Congregation. The book records some information about the family.HH
